I Have Mixed Feelings About Your “OMG, I Just Graduated!” Facebook Status
I should have graduated this year, but I didn’t. My college experience was actually pretty crappy. From medical issues that forced me to move back home, to being at a university that I simply didn’t like, it just wasn’t what I had envisioned.
These days it seems that my Facebook news feed is taken up by graduation statuses. Most of my friends have graduated, and I can’t help but feel a little left behind. I am happy for them and I am the happiest I’ve ever been, but even though I think that all the suffering I went through was worth it because it led me to where I am now (which is at the intersection of Mega and Awesome), I still feel a bit sad and think “that should be me.”
I know that I’ll get my degree eventually, and hopefully I’ll like the Harvard Extension School.

I have a lot of graduation statuses on mine as well. If I hadn’t screwed that up, I’d be graduating this year and wouldn’t have two stories out. Funny how these things work out.
